I am looking for the poem, "The Hermit of Shark Tooth Shoal." can you help me?

You could be referring to the poem, The Ballad of Yukon Jake by Edward E. Paramore, Jr. It first appeared in Vanity Fair in 1921. It has the lines:

And strong men rust, from the gold and the lust
That sears the Northland soul,
But the wickedest born, from the pole to the Horn
Is the Hermit of Shark Tooth Shoal.

Beneath the title of this poem Paramore adds the line Begging Robert W. Service's Pardon
