The Peace Maker

Brothers, if you know how o pray...

Brothers, if you know how o pray,
    And prove yourselves unproud of men,
Profane your putty knees today
    And praise the great god Hydrogen.
Worship the power that saves you from
    Dark doom, - bless the Atomic Bomb.

Dropped from blue innocence on high
    In wink of eye to devastate
A host, or in mid-ocean sky
    A hundred hulls obliterate;
Making of army and of fleet
    Menaces vain and obsolete.

So pile your precious missiles high;
    With planes and plans to flash their flight;
Then furious foe you may defy,
    And hordes will tremble at your might;
Though doubtless others do the same
    Peace may be bought with fear of flame.

For who would dare death to invite,
    Turn splendid city to a tomb,
For carnage and defeat to fight
    When even victory means doom.
So, brothers, bless the H bomb for
    Its threat could end the hell of war.
